Just because it's Independence Day, we wouldn't feel like we were doing our jobs without a friendly reminder:
🎆 Fireworks can be frightening for pets. Keep dogs and cats indoors, close the blinds, turn on a TV or fan for background noise, and make sure they have a safe, comfortable place to hide if they're feeling anxious. Never bring your pet to a fireworks show.
🍔 Skip the barbecue scraps. While those hot dogs, burgers, ribs, and desserts may be tempting to share, many holiday foods can upset your pet's stomach—or worse. Avoid onions, garlic, grapes, raisins, chocolate, alcohol, corn cobs, cooked bones, and foods high in fat, as they can cause serious digestive issues or even emergencies.
🦴 Watch what's left behind. Skewers, bones, foil, and food wrappers are common holiday hazards and can be dangerous if swallowed.
🏷️ Double-check ID tags and microchip information. More pets go missing on the Fourth of July than almost any other day of the year due to fireworks.
